Coldplay perform sunrise and sunset live sets in Amman, Jordan: Watch

As a live debut of their newly released double LP Everyday Life, Coldplay have shared two performances from Amman, Jordan– one taking place at sunrise, and another at sunset. Staged atop the capital’s aged citadel, the sets reflected the two-halves of the new record. The first sunrise performance kicked off at 4am GMT, with the city cloaked in grey clouds as the band whisked through each new track. For their performance of “Arabesque”, they were joined by Stromae, Femi Kuti, and a pack of sparkling horns. The following sunset performance opened with “Guns”, then moved into the single “Orphans” accompanied by a jumping choir. The set wrapped with the album’s title track, sizzling out against a brightly glowing horizon. The two performances serve as one of the few chances to see these songs in live form. You won’t catch the guys touring anytime soon as they’ve sworn it off until they find a more environmentally friendly approach. However, fans in London can catch their upcoming one-off show on November 25th at London’s Natural History Museum. All proceeds will go to the environmental law charity ClientEarth. MTV Push: Ones To Watch 2020 nominee Celeste has revealed last year’s winner Lewis Capaldi is a fan of her music. Dirty Honey’s Marc LaBelle on Topping the Rock Chart, Touring with Slash, and More

Dirty Honey made music history this year when the Los Angeles-based band became the first unsigned act to top the Billboard Mainstream Rock songs chart. For Dirty Honey vocalist Marc LaBelle, the record-breaking moment came as a surprise. “It’s insane!” he tells Heavy Consequence. “Honestly, we never thought that would be the case. That was never something we talked about.” He adds, “I think it’s a credit to our team and our booking agent for putting us on bills with bands that have fans that maybe we’re not right in their wheelhouse, but hopefully they fall in love with the band. That’s been the case more and more. It’s exciting.” In a few short years, Dirty Honey have not only topped the charts, but also toured this past summer with Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, and opened for Guns N’ Roses during their two-night stand in Las Vegas earlier this month. With the band set to embark on a headlining US tour in the new year, LaBelle spoke with Heavy Consequence about the band’s rise to success, what it was like touring with Slash, the current rock revival, and more. Enrique Iglesias concerts cancelled amid scam reports

Enrique Iglesias has been forced to cancel several concerts in eastern Europe after reports of a scam by promoters. The Hero hitmaker was due to perform in Croatia, Latvia, and Belarus in December, but the gigs have been abruptly pulled. A statement posted on the website of Latvian agency Bilesu Serviss claims Iglesias’ reps at the Creative Arts Agency cancelled the shows after promoters failed to fulfil their side of an agreement to stage the gigs. “Sadly and regrettably, after much careful consideration, and exhausting all possible alternatives, we have been forced to cancel the upcoming shows in Zagreb, Riga, and Minsk,” their explanation reads. “ArtBG, the concert tour promoter, producer, and event organizer, have not complied nor fulfilled their contractual obligations with the venues and all production elements for these three events. All of this makes it impossible to put on the show that our fans deserve. Safety for our fans and crew is paramount and we cannot guarantee this for everyone without the promoter fulfilling their obligations.” According to the music industry website Pollstar, a promoter claiming to represent ArtBG has scammed fans out of their money by promoting the gigs without paying either Enrique and his team […]

Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan shares new song “Now That I’m Back”: Stream

Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan is set to release her solo debut, Likewise, early next year. Having previously shared the lead single “Real Thing”, she’s today delivered another preview of the album with “Now That I’m Back”. The new track is aswoon with bedroom synthesizers, an early morning daze as the sun begins to creep through the blinds. Then, for a brief moment, Quinlan peeks out the window as romantic guitars and shakers prelude the additional layers in the song’s final third. Speaking of “Now That I’m Back” in a press release, Quinlan said, “Compromise is often required for the survival of most relationships. I was thinking about my struggles with compromise for the sake of understanding someone outside myself. It’s a long road, I think this song just portrays the start of it. Love is always around, even as great chunks of time drift from us and we inevitably find ourselves altered and wonder how we got to this place. I frighten myself with thoughts of love disappearing from my life, or of my hardening as a person. I’ve had some odd chapters over the last few years. I think this song came out of one of them.” In addition to […]

Kodak Black hit with two new felony charges, faces additional 60 years in prison

Kodak Black is facing up to 60 additional years in federal prison after being hit with two more felony gun charges. Three days ago, the rapper received a a 46-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to federal weapons charges. A day later it came to light he’d sent a prison guard to the hospital after grabbing his testicles in a fight. Now, as the Miami Herald reports, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office has handed the rapper two new felony counts for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. One charge stems from a gun purchased in January, while the other is linked to a gun found on him when he was arrested in Miami in May. As Kodak has been labeled a “habitual offender,” he could face up to 30 full years for each count. Kodak’s lawyer Bradford Cohen addressed the new charges in a statement to XXL. “This is what happens when the government feels like they lost when a young man [gets] 46 months on a filing a false document.” He continued, “Miami has charged him with the purchase of the weapons, because of a little rarely known law if you had a juvenile prior you can’t possess a weapon until you are 24. will.i.am took to Twitter to accuse a Qantas flight attendant of racism while on board an internal flight from Brisbane to Sydney in Australia on Saturday. The Black Eyed Peas star, real name William Adams, whose group is part of the RNB Fridays Live festival tour, hit out at the service he and his entourage received at the hands of the “aggressive” staff member. “I’m sorry to say me and my group have experienced the worst service due to an overly aggressive flight attendant,” the Where Is the Love? star penned. “I don’t want to believe she racist. But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of colour.” The musician went on to complain about having police greet him at the terminal despite being “polite” and respectful to crew members during his ordeal, and shared a shaky photo of a federal police officer, who greeted the group on disembarking the plane. “This is how you’re greeted when you land from Brisbane to Sydney flying @qantas with a #RacistFlightattendant,” he added. “She sent the police after me because I couldn’t hear the P.A while making beats on the plane wearing noise cancelling headphones.” While the star was […]
