Polaris announce reunion tour and deluxe reissue of The Adventures of Pete & Pete soundtrack

Polaris are reuniting for another tour, and you won’t have to wait until October. Even better, they’ve announced a new deluxe vinyl reissue of their diamond soundtrack album to Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Start smiling strange. The tour kicks off May 14th in Rhode Island and continues until August 8th in Iowa. Mark Mulcahy (Muggy), David McCaffrey (Jersey), and Scott Boutier (Harris) will perform a selection of Polaris and Miracle Legion songs, in addition to some surprises. As for the reissue, fans can anticipate a “deluxe vinyl package” that includes a CD of original demos dating between 1992-95, liner notes from Pete & Pete co-creator Will McRobb, and a complete album lyric sheet. Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan shares new song “Now That I’m Back”: Stream

Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan is set to release her solo debut, Likewise, early next year. Having previously shared the lead single “Real Thing”, she’s today delivered another preview of the album with “Now That I’m Back”. The new track is aswoon with bedroom synthesizers, an early morning daze as the sun begins to creep through the blinds. Then, for a brief moment, Quinlan peeks out the window as romantic guitars and shakers prelude the additional layers in the song’s final third. Speaking of “Now That I’m Back” in a press release, Quinlan said, “Compromise is often required for the survival of most relationships. I was thinking about my struggles with compromise for the sake of understanding someone outside myself. It’s a long road, I think this song just portrays the start of it. Love is always around, even as great chunks of time drift from us and we inevitably find ourselves altered and wonder how we got to this place. I frighten myself with thoughts of love disappearing from my life, or of my hardening as a person. I’ve had some odd chapters over the last few years. David Gray announces White Ladder 20th anniversary tour

David Gray will mark the 20th anniversary of his album White Ladder by embarking on a 2020 North American summer tour. The 24-date outing takes place July and August, including stops at Budweiser Stage in Toronto; Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO; and Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Each show will feature a full performance of White Ladder along with greatest hits. Tickets to the upcoming dates can be found here. Along with the tour, Gray will release a 20th anniversary edition of White Ladder on February 14th. The 2xCD or 4xLP set will include a new remaster of the album, plus previously unreleased rarities, B-sides, and demos. Pre-orders are now ongoing.
